Sino-British Joint Research Team Found the Varieties of Black Fungus with Antineoplastic and Anti-aging Functions
 
    Sino-British joint research team had found the varieties of black fungus with antineoplastic and anti-aging effects. The research team found three varieties of black fungus containing the gene that can metabolize the antineoplastic and anti-aging products.

    According to the Xihua News Agency, the research team from Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology Chinese Academy of Sciences(Sibet) and Oxford university, they made the discovery when they did the genetic test for three mainly varieties of black fungus and claimed that further researching might definite the medicine and health value of black fungus. The related studying achievement already published on Scientific Report, a division of Nature Communication.

    These three varieties of black fungus of this research were from national standardized black fungus planting demonstration located in Huang Songdian town, Jiaohe City, Jilin Province. According to surface folding from more to less, they were divided into fully wrinkle black fungus, partially wrinkle black fungus, and non-wrinkle black fungus.

   The collaboration group had used the RNA-seq to analyze these three varieties of black fungus and they found out 13971 universal genes. Some of them could metabolize the small-molecules products with antineoplastic and anti-aging benefits. In addition, researchers also found 1124 new universal genes that had not been recorded in gene pool and these genes may also connected with the generation of antineoplastic and anti-aging effects.

   Although these three varieties of black fungus all possess the gene that can metabolize antineoplastic and anti-aging products, the significant difference still exist in different kinds of black fungus. Different species of black fungus were very different in disease resistance and pharmaceutical ingredients occurring.

   “There is more work to be done to exploit the medicinal value of black fungus. For example, conducting quantity contrast analysis of occurring; accumulating and metabolism of black fungus’s effective medicine ingredients is easy to select fine seeds. And we can also isolate; purify and identify the metabolized effective ingredient to give precise instructions for further processing.” said by Gaoshan, the researcher of Sibet.
